One of the most significant global Asian artists today – Zhuang Hong Yi, is bringing his solo show entitled ‘Inflorescence’ to LA at the HOFA Gallery on 29th March until 10th May 2019.
Hong Yi is known to be one of the top selling Asian artists presently in existence, with his works appreciating every year 20% to 40%, Zhuang Hong Yi has been enlightening the art industry for many years. He has exhibited at all the renowned global art fairs – including Scope in NYC, Tefaf, Art Basel and Art Miami – with exhibitions at Keszler in New York, Seasons Gallery in Den Haag, and Gallery Krijger Katwijk in Amsterdam, among others.
Zhuang Hong Yi uses paint and traditional Chinese rice paper to create luscious, flower-like beds on panels. His rice paper flower manipulations are heavily inspired by Chinese materials and Dutch culture and his LA solo exhibition epitomises these influences, creating a truly exceptional collection of art. The unique color changing ability of his flowerbeds from different focal points has led Zhuang to patent his highly skilled technique, something only a handful of artists in the world have ever achieved.
Hong Yi says about his forthcoming exhibition, “This is my first ever LA show, and is a very exciting milestone and feels quite momentous for me. I am proud to be putting this show with HOFA Gallery after many, many months of detailed planning together”.
He adds, “The large space of HOFA’s West Hollywood gallery gives me the opportunity to exhibit a wider selection of my work, different shapes and a varied range of beautiful colours using my recently developed and new techniques.”
Simonida Pavicevic, curator and co-founder of HOFA Gallery says “We have a very long-standing relationship Zhuang having exclusively represented him for over five years now. We are delighted to bring him to LA for his inaugural exhibition here”.
