Event Details

Artist and historian Carol Bishop explores the questions of how we embrace architecture, how we talk about buildings and how we remember places.

She will discuss these questions through the framework of her art which embraces concepts related to architecture and design.

Bishop will also focus on the famous French artist Marcel Duchamp and his development of “Three Standard Stoppages,” a gesture that changed his art and his life.

According to Bishop, “Duchamp’s process can be employed by all lovers of architecture as a means to embrace and remember the buildings they use.”
